The Media Theoretical Framework.

There are 5 points when we talk about The Media Theoretical framework.

1) Media Context:

Media Language looks at the background. What was going on in that picture. Why was it going on. A way of thinking about it is by thinking,
If there was a slice of pizza on the floor near a drain. Then think of a pizza slice on a plate next to some fine wine and beverage. Which one is the more likely to be eaten?

2) Media Language:

Media Language looks at how the writer's choices convey thought and feelings. This can be how the writer dresses a certain character.
For  Example, If a character is made to wear black, audiences automatically start to think the character is evil as black gives connotations of death and evil. Other methods are the director making the setting a certain way. The lighting is key as if the lighting is flickering the audience will sense danger and horror. The body language and posture of a character play a significant part in the director giving meaning. eg if a character stands hunchbacked and is always tired, the audience will begin to learn about the character and will be able to know that he is a lazy character.

3) Media Representations:

This part of the Media theoretical framework focuses on how the media industries processes of production, distribution and circulation affect media forms and platforms. This aspect also looks at how the media stereotype age, class, gender (etc). An example is, most American shows show that one school girl who always wears black and is a rebel and most people fear as she is made to look very intimidating.

4) Media Industries:

This part looks at how Media forms are marketed? How are they produced.? how is that newspaper advertised? We look at how that newspaper is marketed. What methods do the media industry adopt in order to increase circulation of a newspaper or magazine.

5) Media Audiences:

This is the most interesting part of the media theoretical framework. It looks at how the audience of the media respond to certain media. An example would be when Taylor swift released a music video and the audience made a goat version of the song.

Another example of this are memes. These are pictures that are taken from some movies or other things and are given a humorous text to make a funny picture.
